Music is an essential element in setting the mood of a wedding ceremony and reception. With a professional wedding DJ, you will be able to relax and let your entertainer create that wedding day you always dreamed of. This is why it is important for you to be careful when hiring a wedding DJ.

All too often, we hear of horror stories about how an amateur wedding DJ ruined the mood of a wedding reception simply because they did not play the songs that the bridal couple wanted or because the equipment they used stopped working in the middle of the reception. You can avoid all the hassles associated with hiring a wedding DJ if you know what questions to ask them before you hire them.  Here are a few basic questions...

1. Are you a professional DJ? Are you Incorporated and Insured?

2. Will you play the songs on my play list ?  Can I request do/do not play lists and/or genres?

3. What equipment do you use? Do you have provisions in case of equipment failure?

4. Do you have references? Can we meet you in person?

Obviously the questioning process can get very "drawn out".  You should feel free to inquire until you feel comfortable however, ultimately you should "click" with your entertainer.  Most clients know in the first few moments of meeting their prospective DJ whether or not they are going to sign a contract.
